Advanced contemporary choreography using gestural movements based on real accounts from women of various backgrounds who have experienced discrimination. Alongside choreographing this piece, I composed my own sound score, using voice-overs of these experiences to portray the significance sexism has on women’s lives. This piece is relevant to modern day and how many women across society feel discriminated against in various situations, even in 2021. Following Sarah Everard’s murder, this piece is even more relevant and will resonate with audiences, as women across the country are encouraged to speak up and help others understand the prevalence of sexism today.
