High standards

UK universities are frequently inspected to ensure that they uphold the high standards of teaching, learning and research set by the British Government. The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) is the key body charged with maintaining these standards.

Teaching at universities in the UK is rated by the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and research at UK institutions is graded by the Research Excellence Framework (REF). This means you'll only get the best education from the more knowledgeable academics.

A postgraduate degree

The UK has a reputation for world-class research and highly experienced lecturers. A postgraduate degree from a British university will be recognised and revered by employers.

Compared to Master's programs offered in the USA, UK universities demand more independence from students. Postgraduate courses are more research-paced and don’t involve routine assignments or exams. By receiving a UK postgraduate qualification, it shows employers you're responsible and can be self-motivated.

Proven English skills

Speaking English is a good skill in today’s global business market. No matter the field of work you're looking at taking a job in, English will be considered a fantastic skill to have.

Having a degree from a UK university proves you have a high level of English skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. Leaning to live, work, and think in the English language will enhance your employment prospects.

Specialised degrees

UK universities offer specialised degrees at all levels, in case you don’t want to wait until studying for a PhD before specialising in a field of study.

Choose from over 50,000 courses, in over 25 subject areas – from English, History and Politics to something more specific like Aerospace Engineering, Zoology or Midwifery. Some universities will combine courses like Sociology and Criminology, History and English and Politics and History, which will allow students to delve into two of their interests.

Proven results

i-GO data indicates that international graduates from the UK go on to have high career and life satisfaction. 73% of surveyed graduates felt that the graduate route visa met their expectations, reporting higher job satisfaction compared to those on other visa types.

Most international graduates say they are likely to do business internationally because of their UK degree, and the majority say that they're happier than those who studied in their home country.

University support

It’s not just the qualification that strengthens your chance of improving your career prospects. Support and extracurricular activities provided by the university – as well as internships and placements – will also give your CV a boost.

Universities help students to find opportunities and develop personal networks within their desired industry. They also organise recruitment days and job fairs where you can meet employers you're interested in working for.
