David believes in the profound benefits of education for both individuals and broader society. He understands that organisations must continually adapt to their changing environment in order to thrive and to provide the best possible outcomes for individuals, partner organisations, and other stakeholders.
For the past five years, David has been the Managing Director of UAC, where the pursuit of fair access to education for people has been at the forefront of his thinking.
Before joining UAC, David enjoyed contributing to the education sector in a variety of roles, including as the Head of Strategy at Open Universities Australia, Academic Registrar at the University of Wollongong, and Executive Director of the Australian Government’s International Student Taskforce.
David makes regular contributions to the broader sector through participation in government panels and reviews, as Chair of the Australian and New Zealand group of admissions centres, and at many and varied cross-sector forums, roundtables, and conferences.
Prior to moving into the education sector, David was based in Singapore as Manager, Asia Pacific with BASF, a transnational chemical company. In this role, he led a business unit across the Asia-Pacific region. Before that, he led a research group with the company in Germany.
When not thinking about work, David prefers to spend time with his wife, border terriers, and cats.
