A multicultural city offering great nightlife to its much-welcomed student population.
As City of Culture 2021, Coventry is a diverse and open city with lots of different opportunities. It's small enough to get around by foot or bike in no time at all. The city is forever modernising, however it does have some symbolic historical landmarks, such as the Cathedral. (Third year student, Coventry University)
What Coventry's famous for...
Lady Godiva
The famous naked tax protester trotted through the streets of Coventry on Market Day 900 years ago.
Coventry nightlife, according to students
Coventry is a predominantly student-orientated city, and nightlife is an important part of the university experience. There are pubs and clubs less than ten mins from the university campus (by foot). Most of them have dedicated nights for games, karaoke etc. (Third year student, Coventry University)
Ricoh Arena
From it's use as the home ground for the Wasps rugby union club, to large-scale concerts, and even the Arena Park shopping centre which is home to one of the UK's biggest Tescos, there's something for everyone here.
Coventry nightlife, according to students
Coventry is a student city with loads of bars and clubs for different tastes, such as Kasbah, JJ's (for electronic, rap, RNB, and pop), or Catch Twenty Two for a Latin night out. (Third year student, Coventry University)

When family visit
Climb the Cathedral tower for a great view of the city. The historic part of Coventry has some lovely old pubs, such as the Golden Cross or Playwrights. (Third year student, Coventry University)

Cozy Club and Beagle Brunch in town are nice cafes to go to catch up with your friends. (Second year student, Coventry University)

Friday night out
Kasbah, Coventry's main club, has two rooms: the 'main room' plays chart music, remixes, standard club stuff, and the 'side room' plays pop-punk, emo throwbacks etc. (Third year student, Coventry University)
Living in Coventry, according to students
After first year, there are two main choices: Canley/Earsldon or Leamington Spa, with Earlsdon in between Canley and central Coventry. I chose Canley because it's within walking/cycling distance to uni. The Uber fare back [from SU nights out] is within the base rate fare. Houses in Canley tend to have larger rooms for a similar price. It has several takeaways, including the infamous Goody's Chicken.(Third year student, Warwick University)

The Knife Angel
The Knife Angel, outside the Cathedral, was amazing to look at. (James, third year student at University of Coventry)
Living in Coventry, according to students
I love living in Leamington. It’s expensive, but it’s a lovely town with everything you need in close proximity. There’s a great mix of buildings and nature. It does take 15-40 minutes to get to campus (highly dependent on rush hour and traffic), but if you leave an hour before, you’ll be fine. (Third year student, Warwick University)
Green food vans
The iconic green food vans in Coventry, including my favourite pizza place. (Zusanna, third year student at University of Coventry)
