Leeds Trinity UniversityPhDI worked within secondary education for 22 years before starting my PhD research at Leeds Trinity University (LTU). My professional practice and personal ethos have always focused on creating opportunities for children to develop and thrive. Working towards attaining my Masters at LTU not only ignited a passion for research but it also highlighted how academics can work collaboratively with families, professionals and the Government to inform policy & practice. My research is focusing on school attendance and why children living in Bradford may refuse to access their education with an aim to develop targeted bespoke interventions for the city's children. The level of support and specialist training I have received during the start of my PhD journey at LTU has been phenomenal. I am looking forward to not only developing my academic skills but to also having future opportunities to contribute to the research community, and to support other students with their learning journey at LTU. Please reach out if you would like to know more about our wonderful university whether it is about course content, living on campus or the wider LTU community. :0) -
