Summary

This workshop is designed to provide advisers with information related to medical school admissions in the UK. The workshop will examine the basic entry requirements of a UK medical programme, and focus on specific preparation for the application elements of the admissions process. Following this, the workshop will explore the interview phase of UK medicals school admissions, with a particular focus on multiple mini interviews (MMIs).  

Learning outcomes:

  • Explain the types of requirements expected from international applicants when applying to medical school in the UK.
  • Describe and advise on how to prepare a personal statement in support of an application to medical school in the UK.
  • Be able to advise on work experience, volunteering, and shadowing in relation to an application to medical school in the UK.
  • Understand the interview view process in admissions to medical school in the UK.
  • Understand the role of multiple mini interviews in UK medical school admissions.
