Making an application to the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge (for experienced advisers)

Tuesday 5 June 2018 15:35 - 16:35
Breakout session
This session is suitable for intermediate and experienced advisers.

Summary

This workshop is designed to suit advisers and counsellors who’re relatively experienced in supporting applicants applying to these providers. Each provider will offer a brief insight into any changes to their admissions processes for the coming academic year, as well as how their international work can support guidance counsellors and students through the process.

Primarily, this session will be an opportunity for counsellors and guidance staff to explore their queries and uncertainties about the application process. The presenters will offer honest and thorough advice on the factors which most heavily influence a student’s prospects of success, as well as helping counsellors identify a ‘good fit’ student for Oxford or Cambridge. As this is a discussion-based session, it would be greatly appreciated if delegates could come prepared with questions they’d like to ask.

Learning outcomes:

Delegates will:

  • learn about upcoming changes to Oxford and Cambridge’s admissions processes
  • learn about how the universities work with international schools to support advisers and students
  • have the opportunity to discuss any concerns or queries among the group, and with the presenters
