Clare graduated from Trinity College, Dublin with a degree in languages and then did a post-graduate qualification in Marketing (Irish Institute, Leuven, Belgium), followed by a Higher Diploma in Secondary Education -French and German, (Trinity College, Dublin). Clare worked as a teacher of German and French for four years and then worked in the private sector for six years in PR, marketing and customer services.
In 2006, Clare joined CCEA Awarding Organisation as the Education Manger with responsibility for GCSE and A level French, German and Spanish. Her main responsibilities in this role were to ensure that papers were set, marked and graded accurately to allow results to be issued on time.
In 2013, Clare joined the CCEA Regulation team as an Education Manager working in General Qualifications. Over the last five years my main areas of responsibility have been: designing the process to accredit CCEA A levels and GCSEs; managing the accreditation of a number of A levels and GCSEs; working with government departments and other regulators to communicate the impact of qualifications reform in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and; working with stakeholders in Northern Ireland and beyond to ensure qualifications reform and changes to GCSE grading are understood.
