Dr Paul Paes

Sub Dean MBBS Admissions; Clinical Senior Lecturer in Palliative Medicine, Newcastle University

Dr Paul Paes is a clinical academic, working between Northumbria Healthcare NHS trust and Newcastle University. Within the NHS, he is a Consultant in Palliative Medicine, and a Clinical Director. At Newcastle University, he teaches and researches areas around communication, ethics, and decision making. He is also Sub Dean in the School of Medical Education, with responsibility for admissions. In that role, he leads recruitment strategies, and the selection processes for admission to the Newcastle medical degree programmes. He sits on the Medical Schools Council Selection Alliance Board.
