UCAS Extra opens on 25 February. From this date, Extra vacancies will be displayed in our search tool and eligible applicants can add an Extra choice to their application. At the beginning of the 2015 cycle, all courses were defaulted to 'None' (closed) for Extra.

You can now use the following categories to set the Extra vacancy status for a course:

  • International only
  • None

  • UK (excluding Scotland) and international
  • UK and EU
  • UK excluding Northern Ireland
  • UK excluding Scotland

To select the relevant Extra vacancy status:

  • Log in to Course Collect.
  • Go to the ‘Vacancies’ tab.
  • Tick the vacancy purpose tick box for Extra.
  • Either search for an individual programme, or click ‘Search’ to view all programmes.
  • Tick the box to the left of a programme if you wish to update its vacancy status.
  • Click the ‘add selected to list’ button.
  • Select the new vacancy status from the drop-down menu at the end of the screen.
  • Click the red ‘Apply changes’ button.

Please complete all vacancy changes by Tuesday 24 February so they will be displayed as expected when Extra starts.
