Student life
Dundee is a perfect student city – it’s compact, friendly, and easy to get around yet bursting with all the entertainment and opportunities of big-city life. Dundee is also known for being more affordable than other cities in Scotland and the rest of the UK.
Dundee’s lively café scene, restaurants, and nightlife have something for everyone. The city also boasts cultural attractions such as the V&A Dundee, cinemas, theatres, and an ice rink. There are also plenty of green spaces and waterfront walks. Broughty Ferry Beach, which neighbours the city, provides a seaside fix.
Our central location means Dundee’s train and bus stations are also minutes from campus, making it handy to commute or travel home if you live further afield.
Dundee offers a wide variety of clubs, sports, and events that will help you to meet new friends and try different experiences. From mountaineering to musicals, there are over 150 clubs and societies you can join.
Campus and facilities
Our compact city-centre campus has everything you need in one place, including the library, teaching areas, the gym, and the students' union.
Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA) has food and drink venues as well as a small supermarket. It’s the perfect place to meet friends. Our campus also has plenty of quiet spots and places to relax.
Sport and Active Health (SpAH) offer a range of sport and exercise facilities, including tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a spacious gym with a specialist strength training area, exercise studios, and a cycle studio. SpAH also offers over 40 exercise classes a week. With such a wide variety of facilities and classes available, you can find the best option for you.
Our accommodation, all with en-suite facilities, is typically on or within a short distance of campus. If you apply as an undergraduate first-year student, starting in September, before the deadline, you’re guaranteed to be offered a room (terms and conditions apply).
