Student support
Our students have access to many support services and resources.
Student support services
Our Student Support Services offer guidance and practical support, from study skills workshops to counselling and mental health advice. For more information about support for specific personal situations and needs, visit our website.
College welfare support
If you become a student at Cambridge, you’ll join one of our Colleges. Our Colleges have a variety of people you can turn to for support. This includes nurses, counsellors and chaplains. You’ll also have a Director of Studies (DoS) to help with academic support and pastoral Tutor who can offer guidance on personal matters. Find out more about what Colleges offer.
Peer support
Our student-run welfare network includes College-based student welfare officers and the Student Advice Service which offers confidential and impartial advice. New students are often assigned students in other year groups – known as College parents – to help with settling in.
We have lots of societies that help to create a community for students too. There are over 500 clubs and societies you could get involved with, including cultural and faith societies as well as societies which represent disabled, LGBT+ and other groups of students. Discover our societies.
Financial support
There is a range of financial support available at Cambridge. This includes:
- Government financial support, for UK students
- International financial support, for international students
- Cambridge financial support, such as the Cambridge Bursary Scheme, College funding and childcare support
- Outreach scholarships, for students from backgrounds underrepresented at Cambridge.
