City life and travel to Cambridge

Cambridge is a small but busy city about 60 miles (95 kilometres) from London. It’s well connected to most of the UK from the main train station. You can get direct trains to Stansted and Gatwick airports from Cambridge station, and Heathrow airport is easy to get to via London King’s Cross/St Pancras.

Because the city is smaller, most University buildings are in or near the city centre. Our students usually travel around town on foot or by bicycle and there are frequent buses that stop at various University sites.

You can explore the University through 360-degree photos and videos on our Virtual Tour.
