Sheffield
International
Sheffield is a safe, vibrant and welcoming city, home to a diverse community of international students from over 100 countries. As the fifth largest UK city, it has excellent transport links to Leeds and Manchester, and is just a two-hour train journey from London. In 2024, Time Out magazine named Sheffield the best city break in the UK.
We'll get you work ready
98% of our students are in work or further study 15 months after graduating, with 67% in highly skilled employment (2021/22 Graduate Outcomes Survey).
Our teaching gets you work-ready by showing you how to apply your knowledge. You'll learn the latest ideas and theories, but you'll also learn how to put them into practice.
All our courses have work experience opportunities embedded in each year of study. We deliver placements and real-world projects every year, and work with over 1,000 organisations, from the BBC, Sony, Adidas and Disney to the NHS, Airbus and Rolls-Royce.
Student support
You'll get international support from the moment you apply to the day you graduate and beyond. This includes help with your application, travel and visa guidance, as well as academic, personal and career support throughout your time with us.
We offer a range of ways to help you improve your English — before and during your studies. Depending on your current level and your course requirements, you can choose from 5, 10 or 15-week on-campus pre-study English courses. Once you’ve arrived, you’ll have access to a free English language class to support your academic writing, reading and speaking. You can also get tailored advice through our one-to-one Language Advisory Service. Find out more at shu.ac.uk/english-support.
If you don’t quite meet the academic or English entry requirements for an undergraduate course, our International Foundation Programme is designed to help you get there. Learn more at shu.ac.uk/ifp.
