What makes us different

Our courses are taught in small class sizes. You will get a personal learning experience through 1 to 1 tutor support sessions. Most of our courses have placement opportunities for you to learn outside of the classroom. You could spend a year working in industry or studying abroad, experiencing a new culture.

York St John Students' Union (SU) has a bar and lounge for you to relax, study and socialise. It hosts weekly events and has an Advice Service, offering independent support on academic and volunteering schemes. There are over 60 societies, from African Carribean culture to tabletop gaming and American football to tennis. Our Cost of Living support package includes subsidised membership rates to SU clubs.

We strive to make a positive impact. Our Institute for Social Justice works with people, partners and communities to address the inequalities. Our waste disposal is carbon neutral and none is sent to landfills. Power is sustainably sourced and generated using our own solar panels.

I love it here! Everyone is so friendly and really helpful with lots of people around if you are lost or need some advice. There is such a wide range of clubs and societies that you are never bored and there are lots of places where you can meet up with your friends and just chat. There are lots of places to get food and drink which is handy when you have a long day and the library is amazing.
