About us

Tameside College will transform lives by offering first class education and training in order to improve employability and generate economic prosperity.

Based in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, we are a further education college that provides the next steps from school to university and employment.  We also offer a range of apprenticeships as well as adult and university level courses.

We aim to support the individual aspirations of each learner by providing first class learning environments and resources.  We are rated Ofsted Good and have invested significantly in our campus, to develop state-of-the-art facilities for our students.

HE Graduation 2023

Tameside College graduates celebrate successes with higher education graduation ceremony. Students who have completed their qualifications with the college took part in the ceremony on 6th December 2023, at Dukinfield Town Hall. Guests included family and friends of the graduates, The Civic Mayor of Tameside Councillor Tafheen Sharif, college governors, Jackie Moores, principal and CEO of Tameside College and Dr Nena Skrbic, head of division for lifelong learning at the University of Huddersfield. Jackie Moores, principal and CEO at Tameside College, said: “This evening marks a milestone in your learning journey. It is our way of celebrating you and how well you’ve done. It is a celebration of your dedication, determination & enthusiasm. Tameside puts skills at the heart of its regeneration plan. Your qualification and skills will add value to the local economy. By developing a highly skilled workforce, the borough can attract a range of different employers to invest. Congratulations class of 2022/23 you did it!”

Tameside College works with a range of partners including University of Huddersfield, University of Salford, Amazon, Unilever and Siemens; as well as being a member of the Greater Manchester Institute of Technology.

Our courses are taught by staff with extensive and current industry experience, helping learners of all backgrounds to reach their potential.

Gaining these qualifications makes you more employable and attractive to employers, and the UK requires people with higher level skills to make this country more competitive – especially as we start to recover the economy from the pandemic. Tameside, as a borough, requires more residents with higher level skills to help build economies and regenerate its communities..
