At Leeds Arts University our student support teams provide a friendly and inclusive approach to support you with your journey through university. Our teams are sensitive to different needs and experiences, and have a wide range of options to support and encourage you to build confidence in your abilities.
Our support teams include:
Student Advice and Wellbeing
Student Advice and Wellbeing provide inclusive support to our diverse student community. The team is dedicated to helping our creative students thrive and make the most out of University life. We offer:
- Support meetings with a Student Advice and Wellbeing Advisor
- Mental Health Advisor support
- Counselling
- Art Therapy
- Workshops which are devised specifically to support creative students studying in a creative environment.
- Chaplaincy support for students of all faith and none

Academic Support
Academic Support provides a hub of support for students with learning differences, conditions and disabilities. Leeds Arts University has a diverse mix of creative students with a variety of learning styles and differences which enriches both our student population and the learning environment. We offer:
- Information, advice and guidance on applying for Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSA), funded 1:1 study skills and/or specialist mentoring support.
- Interim 1:1 study skills and/or specialist mentoring support for students who have received a diagnosis but are waiting for DSA-funded support.
- 1:1 study skills and/or specialist mentoring support for disabled students who are not eligible to apply for DSA-funded support for specific reasons.
- Online academic support materials.
- Bookable group workshops on academic writing.
- Shorter general study skills sessions for all undergraduate students.
We can also provide one-to-one support and workshops include support with:
- Interpreting briefs
- Written work and presentations
- Group work
- Reading and making notes
- Citing and referencing
- Organisation and time management skills
- Developing critical thinking
- Reducing stress
Careers, Enterprise and Employability
Leeds Arts University’s Careers, Employability and Enterprise team are here to provide advice, guidance, events and workshops to prepare you for life after university. This includes support from a dedicated careers consultant, access to a range of careers workshops, and opportunities to connect with industry through live briefs, competitions, visiting speakers and placements.

The University offers a range of support throughout the application process, transition and journey through higher education.
