Student support

Pre-entry support: 

Please let us know if you have a learning difficulty or disability, and we will make sure you are supported from the interview stage – at interview you will meet with a support team member who can advise you on your support options and applying for DSA if applicable.  

Academic Support:  

HE students can access our online academic development pages on the Virtual Learning Environment 

Access to an academic development tutor – bookable, one-to-one sessions are available Monday-Friday, and online group workshops are held at various dates throughout the year.  

Library resources – access to both physical and digital books, journals and multimedia resources.  Each curriculum area has a designated subject librarian who can support you to find the resources you need for your study.  

Individual Support Plans for students with a learning need 

Health and Wellbeing Support:

Self-help resources: Access to a suite of online resources designed to support anxiety, stress, and other mental health concerns  

Mental Health Champions and Mental Health First Aiders on site 

24/7 online support with qualified counsellors through Spectrum Life 

Digital gym and wellbeing services through Spectrum Life 

Face to face counselling team and mental health support team 

Gym onsite at Blossomfield Campus 

College nurse available at Blossomfield Campus 

Financial Support:

Non-repayable bursary of £1000 for eligible students  

Access to Welfare payments in times of hardship 

We can support you with applications to Student Finance England 

Social Support and Inclusion:

The Student Enrichment team run a range of clubs and societies throughout the year 

Weekly sports sessions that both mainstream and inclusive 

Day trips and social events organised by the Student Enrichment team 

Support for LGBTQ+ community – we are proud holders of the Rainbow Flag Award
