Student life

Our beautiful riverside campus is situated between Oxford and Cambridge, and a short drive from Milton Keynes and Bicester. Get the best of both worlds; green spaces are the ideal backdrop for your studies, and you won’t be stuck for things to do with cities nearby.

You’ll have a wide range of clubs and societies that you can join, and the Students’ Union will make sure your interests are at the heart of university decisions, as well as running campaigns and raising awareness of the issues that matter the most.

The campus is close to Buckingham’s town centre, which holds weekly markets selling everything from fresh food to antiques. Buckingham has plenty of bars, restaurants, shops and pubs to enjoy in your spare time.

There are plenty of spots on campus to study, relax or unwind, including multiple libraries and the campus cafe bar and restaurant. On hot summer days there’s plenty of room in the outdoor seating areas where you can enjoy a meal overlooking the beautiful river and park.

Visit University of Buckingham to see what life is like on campus.

South East England is made up of nine counties, with popular student cities in Brighton & Hove, Oxford, Portsmouth, Reading, and Southampton.

The area sees plenty of sunshine and Brighton – the LGBTQ+ capital of the UK – is a student favourite, with tons of quirky shops, cafes, arts, nightlife and watersports.

Moving east into Kent, you'll find the charming towns of Whitstable, Broadstairs, and Margate – all bursting with literary history – plus the iconic landmarks of Dover’s white cliffs and Canterbury Cathedral.

London is an hour or two away for gigs, theatre trips and capital city adventures, while the country’s two largest airports – Heathrow and Gatwick – mean international journeys are easy to get started.

Campus and facilities

Forget the long commute to lectures—at Buckingham, everything you need is located on a single campus, with all buildings just a short walk away.

Our campus runs across four sites: Hunter Street, Chandos Road, Mount Pleasant and Verney Park.

Hunter Street is our main site and this is where you can find the Students’ Union building, gym, bar, restaurant, and other student facilities.

We also have plenty of study spaces: from quiet areas in the Hunter Street Library, to group working areas in the Vinson Building.
Chandos Road, which houses our Medical School, contains teaching, studying and academic spaces for our medics.

Recently refurbished, the Verney Park site is just a 15-minute walk from Hunter Street,  home to our state-of-the-art computing suites and teaching spaces for law and psychology.

Mount Pleasant Campus is our newest accommodation block and includes an on-site swimming pool and gym, as well as social spaces.
