Hi, I’m Zahra!

I’m from Iraq and currently studying Education at Brunel University. My goal is to become a teacher because I’m passionate about working with children and helping them grow into confident, curious learners. I believe teachers play a vital role not only in education but also in mentoring and guiding young people toward their full potential.

Through my studies and experiences, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for how impactful a supportive mentor can be in a child’s life. I’m excited to inspire young minds, create a positive learning environment, and help students believe in themselves.

Hi I’m Abbie 🫶🏻. I am a primary education student here at Leeds trinity completing my first year currently. I live at home and commute in for my lectures. I am a course representative so look very closely into student feedback. I am also the mental health officer for Leeds trinity and look forward to building campaigns to help those at trinity! I was very nervous joining university but realised very quickly it’s like family where everyone is supportive and tries to help at any opportunity. The campus is beautiful and I love to study in lots of different spaces to change up the scenery every now and again! I have a dog walking business to satisfy my love of animals and am also a student ambassador for university. I work part time in a pub not far from the university and love to go running in my spare time to clear my mind! I came from sixth form to university and knew what course I wanted to do. I’m here to answer all of your questions about life at university hoping to give an insight on the student life and what to expect!

Hi there! I have just finished my second year in Primary Education. I am looking forward to my first teaching post after finishing the degree! I commute to university every day and spend my spare time tutoring students for their GCSEs! I have an interest in reading and travelling. I’m currently studying to become a primary school teacher and I am definitely loving doing this at Leeds Beckett! I study on the Headingley campus where I also lived in halls for my first year. Student life: I enjoy spending my free time trying new food places around Glasgow and volunteering for various societies. 

Other: I love to travel and have been on a variety of travel placements that have been supported by the university, such as working at camps in America and Canada, going on a pilgrimage to Palestine, and studying a semester abroad in Austria.

Originally from the west of Scotland, I entered the university as a direct 2nd year entry but also as a mature student. I have always had an interest in helping others and with this course I am aiming to develop my counselling abilities but additionally, through placement, gain real world experience. Long term, I have ambitions to complete this course and follow onto the PHD of Counselling Psychology elsewhere in Scotland, however, I am leaving this open to change and allowing this course to further expand my interests.

Currently I am training to be a teacher and I am in my first year. On my course I will go on placement into a school to observe how a school teaches and have a go at teaching a class and some subjects myself which will build confidence. In my free time I enjoy watching studio chinking films as they are very relaxing to watch and and the art style is very pleasing to see.
