I am currently studying Sociology with my original aspiration of becoming a teacher. However, in studying at Glasgow I have been given the opportunity to study Politics/International Relations and History. By studying these extra subjects I have realised I have many career options with a job in Politics becoming more appealing. I would be interested in working with the public and have an interest in social issues. Out with university I enjoy going new places, meeting new people and can't wait to travel again soon. Glasgow is full of friendly faces so university has been great to easily connect with like minded people sharing my interests.

Student life: I enjoy spending my free time trying new food places around Glasgow and volunteering for various societies. 

Other: I love to travel and have been on a variety of travel placements that have been supported by the university, such as working at camps in America and Canada, going on a pilgrimage to Palestine, and studying a semester abroad in Austria.

Portuguese [MA]

Hi! I'm Anna, I'm 21 years old, I'm Scottish and I study Portuguese and Spanish at the University of Glasgow! Currently I am on my Year Abroad in Sintra, Portugal, at a school participating in a traineeship, which is very exciting🤩. 
In the future, I would like to learn more languages such as Russian and Arabic and work in translation and interpretation, maybe even as a news reporter! However, I also adore music and even write my own, so of course the dream has always been to tour around the world! But we'll see where life takes us🫣...
I am also gluten and dairy intolerant (possibly allergies😱!) so I have had to learn to cook and bake to satisfy my dietary requirements and under a budget! As well as find the best places to eat to suit my needs to...

Common Law [LLB]

Currently, I am a fourth year Common Law student here at UoG so I spend lots of my time with my head buried in textbooks but I'm really enjoying the final year of my degree. I am a massive theatre nerd and this year, I'm the Workshops Officer for Student Theatre at Glasgow (STAG) - this has been a super fun way to meet loads of new people and work on some theatre with them! Hi!! I'm a postgraduate law student, doing my International Law LLM at University of Glasgow, I have also got my Common Law LLB degree last June from the same university, so I have been here for a long time :)) I am hoping to specialise in women's rights and gender equality. I'm from Turkey and this is my fifth year in Glasgow and in UofG :) 

I have been dancing and acting since I was a kid. So, I have been very involved in performing arts for so many years and I am super lucky to be still doing that in university. I loveeeee meeting new people, attending social events, spending time with my friends, and always finding something fun to do in Glasgow with my loved ones (as a wee Covid fresher in my undergrad, I am happy that I am finally having a normal freshers week for my postgrad)!! I am currently in my penultimate year of the Physics with Astrophysics MSci program at the University of Glasgow. Additionally, I served as a class representative for both Physics 2 and Physics 3, which helped me gain confidence in representing others—something I am passionate about and plan to continue in the future. I also occasionally participate in debates at the GU Union and am active on social media, particularly regarding political issues. Hi! I’m 2nd year studying a joint honours in Management and Philosophy, having changed from a senior honours in Economics! I have taken modules in Business Law, Entrepreneurship , Marketing, HR, Finance, Maths, Economics, Operations etc. I volunteer with scouts and am in the Army OTC! I also am a part of Hare and Hounds, Tennis, Tri and Mountaineering. I am Treasurer of the Walking Club, VP of the Business Soc and Captain of the Orienteering and Fell Running Club.
