Hi there! I have just finished my second year in Primary Education. I am looking forward to my first teaching post after finishing the degree! I commute to university every day and spend my spare time tutoring students for their GCSEs! I have an interest in reading and travelling. I aspire to teach abroad and learn more teaching approaches as I go along. The experiences I have already received from this course are amazing and make me feel so excited to have my own class to teach! I’m currently studying to become a primary school teacher and I am definitely loving doing this at Leeds Beckett! I study on the Headingley campus where I also lived in halls for my first year. I love cooking (and eating), baking, singing and watching TV. I’m also a nail technician on the side which I absolutely love, as everyday is completely different with everyone wanting a different type of nail. I am an international student from Canada pursuing my MSc in Physiotherapy at LBU.  I have a strong passion for being active and spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking, cycling, or simply enjoying nature. Cooking is another of my interests, and I love experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. I also value meaningful conversations and enjoy connecting with others, making new friends, and exchanging ideas.

In terms of my career goals, I’m excited to pursue a future as a physiotherapist in the UK, where I can apply my skills and contribute to improving people’s health and mobility. I’m also considering the possibility of returning to Canada in the future to continue my practice, and I have a long-term aspiration of opening my own physiotherapy clinic one day.

Biomedical Science | MSc

Hi! My name is Fareha khalid, and I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Biomedical Science at Leeds Beckett University. My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s in Biotechnology, during which I developed a deep passion for research in molecular biology and drug discovery. One of my most exciting achievements was publishing research on drug repurposing for tuberculosis treatment, which strengthened my drive to contribute to global healthcare advancements.

Beyond academics, I’m a Global Ambassador and Postgraduate Representative, actively engaging with diverse student communities and supporting others in their academic and personal journeys. I’m also a former trainee in various pathology labs, where I gained hands-on experience in hematology, microbiology, and histopathology.

Looking ahead, I aspire to pursue a PhD focusing on biomedical innovation, particularly in tackling age-related diseases and zoonotic infections. I’m passionate about bridging the gap between research and clinical applications to improve healthcare outcomes globally.
