I'm a very active person and like to make the most of my free time by going for long runs with my friends, practicing yoga, and going to the gym. I enjoy studying in cafes and baking. Keshav
Durham University
BSc Geology (F600)
Hello! My name is Keshav, and I'm a first year, studying Bsc Climate Science. I was originally born in Germany, but have been living in England for over 8 years. I'm excited to share my story with you and help you get a better sense of what it's like to be a student at Durham University.
I'm currently studying Climate Science, because of the interconnection they have between Geology and Geography. I found it difficult to decide which one I preferred, and felt that this course had the best of both world's. Taking modules in both subjects always keep it fresh and interesting. So far, my favourite subjects have been understanding some of the difficulties we have in dealing with climate change, and the current importance of mitigation and adaption.
One of my favourite experiences has been to engage with world leading professors, who are currently dealing with several issues on climate. Group work sessions are also great, as you get to make friends with people across the world, learning about different cultures and traditions along the way. In my free time, I enjoy travelling, playing music, and watching sports.
If you have made it this far, I can tell that you are interested! I hope this gives you a better sense of what it's like to be a student at Durham University. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me, and I will be happy to help.

My academic background began at Secondary school, then progressing onto college to complete my Level 3 BTEC in Sport & Exercise Science (achieving Triple Distinction Star) which allowed me to gain knowledge in different disciplines.

Biomedical Science
Hi, my name is Phoebe! I am currently in the final year of my BSc Biomedical Science (NHS Placement Year) degree at the University of Essex. I haven't set my mind on specifically what I'd like to do after my degree, but I know I'd like a job working within the biomedical field. During my first year at uni, I chose to live on campus (Colchester Campus) in South Courts, but during the following years I commuted from home, so I am happy to answer questions about both. The campus accommodates for however you're feeling e.g. from spending some time relaxing at the lakes, quiet study spots and places to grab coffee to SU events, sports teams & societies and even a nightclub! If you have any questions about studying biomedical science, the clearing process, living in uni accommodation or student life in general, send me a message and I'll be happy to help! 😊

Hi ! I’m a 3rd-year undergraduate student studying Sports Therapy at the University of Essex. I started my journey here at just 17 years old, moving not only to an entirely new country but adjusting to living alone was a challenge, but along the way, I’ve picked up some tips and tricks that I’d love to share with you because I know how hard it can be.
For the past two years, I’ve been part of the V Team, and this year, I’m the Session Leader for the Refugee Teaching Program. I’ve also lived on campus all three years, so I’ve had plenty of experience with campus life, accommodations, and all things Essex.

I am a black Christian woman; a Nigerian born, who loves her culture so much especially the inside jokes, foods, and attires so much that I exude all of these as I adapt to 'Rome'. I am a goal-getter; and very determined to excel at everything I do. In my leisure time (which is rare), I love to read self-development books, ride my bike, chat with friends and family. I am also passionate about supporting young adults to attain their dreams through empowerment programmes, engaging in more volunteering activities and travelling as much as I can.
