Hi! I’m Hannah, a first-year student studying Neural Engineering with Psychology. My degree isn’t one that’s very well known but I love it. It combines Psychology, Engineering and Computer Science. In my next couple of years, I will cover areas like working with prosthetics, AI and brain computer-interfaces. If that sounds like your sort of thing, then definitely go check it out and feel free to ask me any questions about my experience so far. I mostly work in the CSEE department so I can answer questions about other courses as well.  As this is my first year, I remember very well how stressful looking for the right university and course can be. I’d like to make your experience easier in anyway I can. Remember, university might seem a bit scary but its also such a great opportunity to be independent and there will always be people happy to support you. I chose to come to Glasgow because of the flexibility they offered with their degree plans; I initially enrolled in a Psychology degree, but have since changed my degree to Chemistry! As a child of immigrants, I have always paid attention to the news, regardless if I thought it be interesting or not, because I had family living under a tyrannic government. This constant attention to news channels, whether that be on the TV or written, became a part of my daily life, naturally. And so, my passion for information and to enable others to be cognizant of certain situations, injustices, etc. transpired. This passion grew over time and by the age of 7, it had transformed into wanting to become an investigative journalist and write everything I experienced and how it differs from other personal experiences.
