Hi, I am Kavya. I am a Year 3 PhD research student in Psychology at the University of Essex. I moved to the UK from India to study the MSc Psychology (Conversion) course and enjoyed the experience so much that I continued on to pursue a PhD. My research explores how people think and solve tricky mathematical problems, focusing on reasoning and decision-making.
Starting as an international student was both exciting and challenging, but the University of Essex’s diverse and supportive community helped me settle in quickly. The Albert Sloman Library soon became my favourite study spot, and over time I learned to strike a balance between academic work and life on campus.
I am happy to share my experience of adapting to UK academic life, settling in as an international student, managing workload, or directing you to the right support services at the University of Essex. Hi! My name is Kiera and I am a 5th year Neuroscience MSci student at the University of Glasgow. Outside of my studies I love to sing and perform on stage in musicals - it is a great way to relax and express myself!
