I am currently in my second year of the BSc Optometry course at City, University of London. Moving to London for University has been a good opportunity for me to try out new things and experience living in the city. In my spare time I enjoy meeting up with my friends. If you have any questions related to living away from home, uni life or Optometry, I’m happy to answer them.

Kavya
University of Essex
Psychology
Hi, I am Kavya. I am a Year 3 PhD research student in Psychology at the University of Essex. I moved to the UK from India to study the MSc Psychology (Conversion) course and enjoyed the experience so much that I continued on to pursue a PhD. My research explores how people think and solve tricky mathematical problems, focusing on reasoning and decision-making.
Starting as an international student was both exciting and challenging, but the University of Essex’s diverse and supportive community helped me settle in quickly. The Albert Sloman Library soon became my favourite study spot, and over time I learned to strike a balance between academic work and life on campus.
I am happy to share my experience of adapting to UK academic life, settling in as an international student, managing workload, or directing you to the right support services at the University of Essex. Please feel free to reach out and I would be glad to help. No question is too small, and I was once in your position as well.

As a disabled person, I had a lot of worries about attending university, but I've absolutely loved my time here so far. LLB (Hons) Law
I’m a passionate and ambitious law student with a strong interest in social justice and the climate crisis. I believe in using the law as a tool for positive change, and I’m always up for a good debate on corporate accountability and environmental policies!
Outside of my studies, I’m a bit of a nerd—I love video games, anime, and nothing beats a good, cold classic chess game. When I’m not deep in a legal case or a fantasy world, you’ll probably find me hiking, soaking in nature, or sketching landscapes, capturing every moment with just a pencil.
