Hi, I’m Dimithra Dayaratne, an undergraduate student studying Zoology with Conservation. I grew up in the little island of Sri Lanka. My goal in life is to become a chief sustainability officer of a company, as I am passionate in environmental management. I’d like to do my part in contributing to the conservation of our planet from a corporate perspective. I know the struggles some of you guys might face. Leaving your friends and family probably for the first time, trying to fit in with your peers, or things like setting up your new bank account. International students in particular might struggle with some aspects like the culture shock or having no relatives in the country. I strive to ensure that everyone has a smooth and easy transition to their new chapter in life.

I'm a 2nd year Actuarial Science student at the University of Essex and an international student from Malaysia. I have a strong passion for mathematics, statistics, and problem-solving, and I aspire to become an actuary in the future, using my analytical skills to assess risks and make informed financial decisions.
Beyond academics, I'm actively involved in social events and love connecting with new people. I also sometimes volunteer with the university’s V-Team, which allows me to give back to the community and develop new skills. Hey there, I'm Ella!! I'm in my 2nd year of University, and I'm finally settled into Uni life now ;) I love learning about my Immunology degree, especially about viruses and cancers. On the weekends, you can find me hiking with my friends and sometimes we even go wild swimming if the weathers nice (not likely)⛰️. After my lectures, I can either go rock climbing in my Uni society, watch some football, catch up with the F1 I missed on the weekend or catch up with friends in the union playing some pool.
