Brunel University of LondonLife SciencesHi! I’m Rashmi, a first-year BSc Life Sciences student at Brunel University London. I’m passionate about exploring bioinformatics, combining biology and data analysis to tackle complex problems like genetic disorders and drug development. Outside academics, I enjoy drawing, playing badminton, and teaching, which allows me to connect, share knowledge, and inspire curiosity. If you have any questions about life at Brunel, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help! 😊 Ailsa
University of StrathclydeFaculty of Humanities and Social SciencesHi! I am a fourth year Psychology and Counselling student from London. The most significant aspect of my journey to Strathclyde was that a few years ago, I was enrolled at a different university, on an entirely different course than I am now. I can completely resonate with feelings of being unsure of your future, your direction, and not knowing where you can go to ask questions freely. In my latter years of school, I felt like there was no significant pull to any which subject or university, and so when starting university, I struggled to know whether I had made the right choice. When I started to feel as though Psychology was more what I wanted to study, I felt at first like I had no options, and had gone in the wrong direction for my future with no way to redirect myself. I then realised that this experience was valuable, as I learnt about myself, and what I wanted in a university, course, and campus. Strathclyde was my number one university from the moment I looked into it as for me, it ticked all my boxes. I reapplied to UCAS and here I am now! As for my course, I started feeling as though Psychology and Counselling would suit me as in addition to my interest in multiple strands of psychology, including Neuropsychology and Behaviourism specifically, I believe mental health is an increasingly important topic of discussion. I feel very strongly that current education and resources provided, particularly to young people, require critical improvement that is long overdue. I chose a degree within which I can take my first steps towards entering a profession, such as a counsellor, where I can contribute to the fight for mental health support. For now though, I am enjoying being a student at the University of Strathclyde! Alaa

University of WarwickMSci Integrated Natural SciencesHi! I am the resident Northern Irish on the Integrated Natural Sciences course. Thanks to my older siblings I feel like I had a head start on approaching university. While I am not an international student I am one of the few domestic students that needs to head to an airport or port to get home. I plan to finish my masters at Warwick and then do a Phd elsewhere, I have not given much thought to all the details yet. Ann

Lancaster UniversityEnvironmental and Earth SciencesHi I’m Emily! I’m in my second year studying Earth and Environmental Science, with the hopes of becoming a volcanologist in the future. I’d swapped from studying Geography last year, so am able to answer questions on either degree. I’ve loved living on campus and in town, I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have about the uni or Lancaster in general :) I’m also on the study abroad scheme so can answer any enquiries about this. Bangor UniversityMedical SciencesStarting medical school was both exciting and slightly overwhelming, as I fortunately received an offer through clearing. At Bangor University, I’ve learned that medicine isn’t just about studying—it’s about adapting, growing, and finding balance. While Bangor may not be the biggest city, its supportive atmosphere and hands-on learning made it a great place to begin my journey. With mountains to hike, lakes to explore, and breathtaking scenery all around, there’s always a way to escape the stress of studying. My time at Bangor has also given me the opportunity to explore nearby cities, allowing me to discover new places and fully enjoy the experience of traveling. Outside of medicine, I stay active through athletics, enjoy cooking (and eating!), unwind with movie nights, and stay grounded through Bible study.
