My advice for someone joining the apprenticeship scheme is to be real and true to who you are. Mace is constantly pushing for diversity and inclusion within the business, so don’t ever think that you won’t ‘fit the mould’. No apprentice is expected to know everything – I’m learning new things constantly. The willingness of colleagues to share their experience and knowledge is truly amazing. There is no pressure with regards to the knowledge you have. Just be prepared to work hard, as it isn’t easy, however you will be recognised for it.
