From 5 July to 23 October, you can apply for a course using Clearing if you’re not already holding an offer from a university or college, and the course still has places.

Clearing opens and vacancies are listed in our search tool.

You can use Clearing if:

  • you’re applying after 30 June 
  • you didn’t receive any offers (or declined any you did receive)
  • you didn’t meet the conditions of your offer(s)

Tuesday 7 August 2018
  • SQA results day.
  • From 09:00, we start updating Track for Scottish applicants.
  • If you’re eligible, you can add a Clearing choice or reply to offers in Track from 10:00. 

Thursday 16 August 2018
  • A level results day
  • From 08:00, we start updating Track for all applicants.
  • If you’re eligible, you can add a Clearing choice or reply to offers in Track from 15:00. 
  • Our direct contact service opens – if you sign up and find yourself without a place,  unis can contact you if they have places on courses which might be suitable for you.

Thursday 20 September 2018

The last date you can submit applications to 2018 entry courses. Applications must arrive at UCAS by 18:00. 

Tuesday 23 October 2018

The last date you can add a Clearing choice in Track, and for unis and colleges to accept applicants in Clearing.
