Summary
In response to an increase in online and social media enquiries during the early Clearing period and A level results day in 2017, and research about the behavioural preferences of Generation Z students, in 2018 the University of Bradford launched a new ‘Self Apply’ clearing tool on its website. The tool supports students who preferred to apply for a Clearing place online, at a date and time convenient to them.
This session will include an overview of the process implemented by the University of Bradford and a demonstration of the system, followed by a discussion around how other providers manage the changing Clearing environment.
Learning outcomes:
- Delegates will identify how they can start to approach Clearing in a different way in a complex and changing admissions environment, and hear from other universities on their approaches.
- Delegates will also understand more about how effective technology can help support the Clearing process.
