Responding to a changing accommodation landscape

The landscape of student accommodation is on the brink of transformation. With shifting demographics and evolving student needs, stakeholders are exploring innovative approaches to ensure housing remains sustainable and student-centred.

In our recent webinar, we delved into what the journey to a million students by 2030 means for the student accommodation sector.

To meet the unique set of challenges and opportunities this brings, we must understand the dynamics of today's students, utilise data-driven insights, and embrace collaborative models that prioritise student welfare.

Here are some key insights from our webinar:

  1. Demand surge: The accommodation market is experiencing an unprecedented surge in demand. This highlights the importance of foresight and adaptability in meeting the needs of students.
  2. Diverse student needs: It's crucial to go beyond market demand and understand the diverse needs of students. Data from UCAS shows a significant increase in mental health declarations, emphasising the role of accommodation in fostering student well-being. Link to the data and analysis section of the website and explain what they can do with the data in there.
  3. Student-driven change: Students are actively driving change, evident in their preferences for rebooking and commitment to environmental conservation.
  4. Inclusive housing model: There's a growing call for an all-inclusive housing model that prioritises safety, mental well-being, and accessibility to essential amenities.
