Your guide to the UCAS Hub

The UCAS Hub puts the power of choice in the hands of your students. As well as bringing together a huge breadth of options on one screen, it allows them to carefully explore and compare different paths without feeling overwhelmed. Along their journey they can save favourites for a truly personalised journey. They can also delve into the detail when they’re ready, and have everything easily to hand when they start applying, to ensure a seamless experience.

CV Builder now in the UCAS Hub

Are your students ready to make a strong first impression? Whether they’re applying for work experience, a part-time job, or an apprenticeship, a well-crafted CV is key to standing out.

The UCAS CV Builder is a new user-friendly, step-by-step tool designed to help students:

Showcase their unique skills and achievements in a clear, professional format.
Build confidence by providing structure and guidance, ensuring nothing important is overlooked.
Create a template of key information they can quickly tailor for different applications and encounters, all stored in their Hub profile.

You and your students can access the CV Builder tile in the UCAS Hub.

Subject tasters and virtual work experience

UCAS is collaborating with Springpod to offer students free access to their Subject Spotlights and Virtual Work Experiences. From university course tasters to work experience, Springpod's programmes enable young people to explore, interact and learn about university and the world of work before they apply.

What tools and resources are on offer?

We offer a number of tools geared towards career development and next steps for students, from information and guidance, to quizzes, events and live webinars, and personalised recommendations. Some of these tools are found in the Hub, behind a log in. You and your students can set up an account to access these.

Discover

For students working out what their next steps are after school or college, UCAS offers a wealth of tools, information and guidance, and advice – from subjects to quizzes and events.

Students can discover what courses other students with similar subjects and qualifications applied for using our new data tool.

Our subject guides are the best place to start to research options, covering advice, careers, pathways and peer-to-peer insight.

Our industry guides break down different apprenticeship careers with what to expect, salary information and FAQs.

Our exhibitions across the UK are the perfect way for students to talk to experts to help them shortlist their options.

Students can apply to apprenticeships and traditional degree routes at the same time. Find out more about apprenticeships, from researching to applications.

Our Careers Quiz provides a range of personalised career matches based on students’ interests.

Sign up for the latest news and developments

Our newsletter is the best place to get all the latest guidance to help you support your students as they make their choices for the next steps after school. Sign up to receive the latest news and developments around careers, tools, the Hub, application guidance and all things choices.

Decide

Students can use the Hub and their personalised dashboard to build out their choices and compare their options. They can even talk to students to get more insight into their chosen subject.

The Hub learns from students’ profiles to suggest relevant content, events, next steps and pathway options.

Students can find out more about their chosen subject by chatting with university students via UniBuddy.

Apply

When students are ready to apply, UCAS offers a helping hand; from personal statement advice and a tariff calculator, to our Career Finder tool to apply to jobs and apprenticeships directly.

The personal statement builder breaks down what to include in different sections, guiding students through whilst counting characters.

Students can input their qualifications and grades to work out their UCAS Tariff points to see if they meet entry requirements.

Your students can use our apprenticeship and graduate job search to see and apply for hundreds of live jobs and apprenticeships.

Accessing the Hub from the adviser portal

Discover what the Hub has to offer, all from your adviser portal – create your own favourites list, put together a list of pages to refer to in the classroom, and experience the Hub just like your students do.

Simply navigate to the icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen when you’ve signed in (as shown in the screenshot) and select ‘Hub’. This will take you straight to the Hub dashboard so you can start exploring.
