For some students, their individual circumstances can have a significant impact on their decision to go to university or college – and on their experience when they are there.

UCAS’ Outreach Connection Service has been developed for UK teachers and advisers, offering an efficient and timesaving online tool for them to support disadvantaged and underrepresented students to higher education.

Hosted in the adviser portal, it allows trusted and onboarded providers and third-party providers to showcase their outreach opportunities, so teachers and advisers can connect to the opportunities relevant for their students throughout their discovery journey.

Opportunities include:

Sutton Trust

Pathways to Professions

  • Banking and finance
  • Engineering
  • Consulting
  • Law
  • Medicine

The programmes are completely free to attend. From work experience to employability skill sessions, to ongoing university and apprenticeship application support, eligible students get the opportunity to immerse themselves in the possibilities of their future career.

Having spent my whole career since university working in widening participation and outreach, I know the incredible impact these programmes can have on a young person's future. To be a small part of that journey, working with the fantastic team to create this service makes me really proud!
